Three hundred years ago, in the European Enlightenment, intellectuals constructed a mythology of technology. This swept away thousands of years of mythology - of local wisdom and innovation - considered 'primitive'.
Science is considered static truth - in actuality it is an evolving mythology.
A good example of mythology passing wisdom is the 'Three Sisters Trilogy' - where corn, beans and squash are grown together. The corn supports the beans, the beans provide nitrogen to the soil, and the squash provides weed control. Together, they provide a nutritious diet for humans.
