Microhistory

Microhistory is a close reading of sources and paying of special attention to contradictions, variations, inconsistencies and oddities.

Microhistorians believe that by looking at cases or details that previous research has ignored or considered too trivial, one can gain new insights into phenomena that previously have not been understood or identified.
