Counterpower comes in three forms

  • For example, a media friendly prank that targets the reigime
• Economic
  • For example, refusing to work
• Physical
  • For example, refusing to co-operate, non-violent direct action

There are four stages of couterpower

• Consciousness
  • Building collective thinking
• Coordination
  • Building a team
• Confrontation
  • When action begins
• Consolidation
  • Action shifts - eg: from one protest to full movement
